Diet app update: v1.52 (April 2, 2026)

Learn about the new feature we added and how to use it.

People don't all plan their meals the same way.

With a recent update, the app assumed that once you added food to a meal, you were done with it. For many of you, that worked just fine. For others, it made planning feel more rigid than it needed to be.

We heard that feedback.

So we made an update.

Now, the app can recognize when you're still adjusting meals, so your day status better reflects your actual plan, not just what's currently entered.

Because consistency comes from tools that adapt to you, not the other way around.

To support that, we've made meal planning a lot more flexible.

You can now redistribute macros to any meal, even if it already has food in it. That means fewer constraints and more flexibility to plan your day in a way that actually matches real life.

Previously, in "Adjust meals," you could only redistribute macros to empty meals.

That forced you into a rigid order. Adjust first, add food second.

Now you can redistribute macros to any meal that is not locked, including ones that already have food. The app updates the target macros, and if your existing food does not match, it flags the meal with an "Adjust foods" badge so you can fix it when you are ready.

This means you can plan your entire day upfront, then fine tune individual meals after. Way more realistic.

Your day status bar reflects the new targets, not the old food, until you update the meal. So your projections stay accurate.

How it works:

Open "Adjust meals" on your Schedule screen. You will see source labels next to each macro number. "Foods," "Targets," or "New" show exactly what you are looking at.

Tap any meal to include it in redistribution, even if it already has food. After you hit Save, meals with food that no longer match the new targets will be flagged with an orange "Adjust foods" badge.

That badge means the targets changed, but the food has not been updated yet. The app uses the new targets for your day status totals so your plan reflects what you should eat, not what is currently entered.

To clear the badge:
  • Edit the foods in your meal (add, remove, or rebalance)
  • Copy foods into the meal
  • Tap "Done planning foods" inside the Meal screen overflow menu

You can also mark a meal as "Still planning foods" from the menu if you want to come back to it later.

A few things to know:
  • You cannot check in a meal with the "Adjust foods" badge until it is resolved or marked as planned
  • During Weekly Review, you can still check in these meals using current food so nothing gets blocked
  • If your food already matches the new targets, no badge appears
  • Locked meals cannot be redistributed
  • Meal badges now show food count and status, like "3 foods · Targets met"

People don’t all plan their meals the same way.

Until now, the app assumed that once you added food to a meal, you were done with it. For many, that worked. But not for everyone.

This update lets the app recognize when you’re still adjusting meals, so your day status better reflects your actual plan.

Consistency comes from tools that adapt to you, not the other way around.
