Workouts That Should Be Logged in the Diet App

What counts as a workout in the diet app?

  • Anything that is geared to improving fitness for a specific outcome

Some examples that many of our users may participate in could look like:

  • Bodybuilding
  • Powerlifting
  • Crossfit
  • Sport training
  • 5k training

How should they be rated?

  • Light - Most WODs, powerlifting, and most weightlifting workouts; tough at times, but you get plenty of rest.
  • Moderate - Pretty tough training where you're working hard with little rest. Bodybuilding workouts qualify in many cases. You could go harder, but it would take a lot.
  • Hard - Workouts where you are maintaining a high effort of perceived exertion, with little left to give by the end. You can barely breathe, you're sweating a ton, and it's a go-go-go pace. Very few workouts qualify.

For endurance training, a good guide to start with is:

  • Light - Less than 300 calories burned
  • Moderate - Between 300-900 calories burned
  • Hard - 900+ calories burned

What does not count as a workout in the app?

  • Anything performed for general health, general activity, and fat loss, no matter how demanding.

Things that do not count:

  • Recreational hikes
  • Recreational sport where performance is not a focus (i.e. just for fun)
  • Cardio done for fat loss
