For general strength and hypertrophy, we recommend ordering your exercises based on muscle group priority and stimulus to fatigue ratios. What does this look like?
For beginners, the order will most likely start with compounds and finish with isolations if there are any, but intermediates and advanced athletes will want to look at how effective an exercises is (stimulus) compared to how tired it makes them (fatigue). For most intermediates, this will likely still be compounds first and isolations later, but as they become more advanced and different muscle groups take priority, starting with isolations and then doing compounds can be beneficial in both pre-fatiguing the muscle so compounds don't have to be as heavy, and the mind-muscle connection may feel better. But do I need to perform them in order every session?
For consistency, it is best practice to perform exercises in the same order each session. It is particularly helpful when it comes to tracking progress for a specific lift/muscle group over the course of the block. However, for most people, exercise order is not going to have a large impact on training results, and sometimes, you need to switch the order due to time or equipment restraints.
If you need to change the order, you can do so by selecting the three dots on the top right hand side of the day, and then select 'Reorder Exercises.'
