Long Workouts

If your workouts seem to take a long time, consider the following:

  • Rest times - If your rest times seem to slip away from you and you need to cut down on time, consider keeping better track of rest times. You can use a rest timer, or our tips on monitoring your rest without one here.
  • Number of exercises - Sometimes, users may try cramming as many exercises into their training days. To save time, consider removing some exercises, or performing supersets.
  • Number of sets for each exercise - this is where users can go wrong with the app feedback prompts. The app will only increase volumes if you tell it you can handle more, generally by telling it the workload was too little and the pumps were low. Take a mental check of how your body truly feels when responding to the prompts. Chances are, you may be doing too much work!
    • Some muscle groups might truly need many sets per session, e.g. delts in order to grow
      • Additionally, you can set a body part to secondary instead of primary by hitting the three dots at the top of the workout and then hit progression rates. This will change the volume progressions through the cycle moving forward. (Muscle group priorities).
